Our traditional family-run Gîte is a recently converted stone barn fully adapted for wheelchair access. It nestles in the peaceful Creuse countryside, surrounded by wildlife, lakes and forest.
The 3 bedroom Gîte has retained many of the original features such as oak beams, a wood burning fire and is fully equipped with TV, video and board-games in the lounge, and a fully fitted kitchen with everything you’d expect to find at home (including essential food supplies to welcome you to save that search for a supermarket en-route). A cot and high chair are also available.
Outside there is a fenced grassed garden with swing combination, sand pit and safe play area. We can provide a paddling pool, sit and ride tractor, play house and various toys for indoor or outdoor use including books, games and puzzles for all ages. There is also a level fenced-off patio area with plunge pool, garden furniture and gas barbecue.
Upstairs in the attic of the main house, there are two more letting rooms with en-suite.
We are situated 16 kilometres south of Guéret, a town with its own market twice a week (Thursday and Saturday), 4 large supermarkets plus many different shops, railway station and museum. There is a lake on the outskirts with safe beach area and water sports, a giant maze and the Chabrières Wolf Sanctuary and Forest with walks, mountain bike tracks, Arboretum and granite rock formations. Within an hour and a half of us is Limoges with its porcelain, railway station with interesting architecture, many shops and airport. There are fun parks nearby, a zoo, aquarium, Oradour-Sur-Glane and Lake Vassivière with its many safe beaches, water sports, bouncy castles (seasonal), assault course, walks, mountain bike tracks, variety of restaurants and more.
